Documents Required when Applying for Graduation

The following items must be submitted to the Institute for Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering when applying to be considered for graduation:

1. Thesis Properly formatted and bound in hard cover.
(Signatures of the jury members should be complete
and the approval date should be included).
2. Thesis Data Entry Form (2 copies) As requested by Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
(Consult YÖK Submission Guide (in Turkish) or FBE.)
3. Graduation Letter Written by the program chair.
(Please be aware that this letter may have been directly submitted from your department to FBE.)
4. Thesis Defense Report (Successfull) Written by the program chair.
(Please be aware that this report may have been directly submitted from your department to FBE.)
5. Turnitin Plagiarism Report Obtained from the FBE Turnitin Class.
(This report can be submitted via e-mail by the student, but has to be signed by the advisor.)
6. CD (2 copies), including:
a. Thesis Data Entry Form As requested by the Council of Higher Higher Education (YÖK).
b. Thesis (in PDF format) Thesis file should be named "referenceNumber.pdf".
(Reference number obtained from YÖK).
c. Additional Material (e.g., attachments, code files)
Mandatory if referred to in the thesis, optional otherwise (e.g., attachments, code files).
Documents must be archived and named as "Ek.rar"
7. Thesis Jury Report (PhD only) Signed by all the jury members.

Please note:

  • The name of the thesis on the CD must be the Reference Number obtained from YÖK.
  • With a CD marker, write the following information on the CDs: Name, Surname, Department, Year of Graduation, MS/PHD and Thesis Title.
  • The Thesis Data Entry Form should be printed in portrait mode, not landscape. The signed form must be scanned and also written onto the CDs with the file name:
    referenceNumber-tezVeriGirisFormu.pdf.
  • The email address that you provide to YÖK should be functional after graduation.
  • To be able to enter the YÖK system, an "e-devlet" password is needed. This password can be obtained from a PTT office in Turkey with your Kimlik ID Number. For foreign students, the Yabanci Kimlik Number can be used to obtain an e-devlet password from a PTT office.
  • The Thesis document on your CDs should not contain any personal information, such as your Signature, Personal photo, ID number(s), e-mail, Phone number(s), Birthplace, Date of birth, Address, etc.). You also have to remove the approval page and pages that contain this kind of information, before transferring your thesis onto the CD.
